About Joe
Joe Wood is an actor, writer, director, and acting teacher based in NYC. They have their BFA in Music Theatre from the University at Buffalo and furthered their training at the Maggie Flanigan Studio in their 2 year Meisner Conservatory Program, followed by the Professional Actor Business Program.
Joe is the creator of Studio B, an 8 episode queer psychological horror series. Written with their co-writer, Nathan LoPinto, the series follows 7 strangers who join a grief support therapy group, how their lives intertwine, and whether they can learn to survive what they’re going through together. The pilot of Studio B is shooting in the summer of 2025 and will be directed by Hailey Vest.
Joe is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Ephemeral Players, a non-profit theater company whose mission is to create accessible immersive theater that empowers emerging artists while supporting social causes illuminated by the message of its productions. Joe is directing the Ephemeral Players’ debut production of Jen Silverman’s Witch in the fall of 2025.
Joe is an acting teacher at the Maggie Flanigan Studio where they teach in the two year progression as well as coach students in private sessions. They also offer self-tape and audition coaching independently to private clients. As a coach, Joe empowers their actors to make simple, specific, and actable choices that create the behavior the material calls for.
